We did
not call it
the Butterfly
Disaster, or the
Butterfly Incident.
We called it the Butterfly
Armageddon, because that's
what it seemed like. A horror
show as surreal as the Book
of Revelations. A genocidal
rapture did not seem to discriminate
between the believers and the heathens. Yet as in
the sadistic fables that my mother described as "the
Word", those left behind were in for great suffering.
